Excellent

I have already extended the wifi in my home with the fantastic Devolo 1409 dLAN 200 AV Wireless-N Starter Kit but due to the thickness of the walls it happened that the signal was weak in my bedroom, which is furthest from the router and the other Devolo plug. I dithered for some time before investing in an additional Devolo plug. I now wish I'd bought it sooner as it has made such an improvement.I took it out of the box, made a note of the passcode on the plug, plugged it in to a socket in my bedroom and that's all I had to do. For a non-technically savvy person, these Devolo products are wonderfully easy to install. The signal is now excellent and I can use the Internet, watch TV, BBC iPlayer etc., in that room. It's really brilliant.

Going Wireless

Hi,I needed an easy way to extend my wireless network in a flat jungle of wireless connections. It was a simple case of de-boxin, plug into the wall and away you go on your ipad etc. It also then offers cabled options to my apple TV for faster downloads which lead to me putting away the drill, sure the wall was happy about that. Would recommend downloading the software from their website as it helps to setup more secure options and place a sticky note near the unit with the WEP2 key as you don't want to unplug it each time you need to sync up a new device.

I live in an old house with thick brick walls. I also use Sky as my ISP so they insist that I use their router which from a wireless perspective is "pants". I had used an alternative system that used the electricity wiring but found that it failed after 15 months and the after sales support from the Far East was shockingly bad. So seeing the base starter package on offer at PC World I invested in Devolo having read good reviews. I needed an additional receiver so I saw this unit on Amazon which complemented the existing system. The Admin is not the clearest to understand but after a couple of false dawns I managed to attach the additional unit to the system since when it has been flawless. Having two adapters one upstairs and the other down provides perfect coverage and if I do go to a part of the house where the reception is less than 75% I just unplug the adapter and take it to wherever I am and plug it in locally. The signal is sufficiently quick to allow streaming of video and audio so there are no issues over speed.If you have a large old house where access to wireless signal is a problem I can highly recommend this system. It may look expensive but it works!!
